The decision taken by the Professional Football Disciplinary Board at its meeting dated 26.02.2024 and numbered 54 was announced. The Board announced that Galatasaray’s Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi was banned from 1 official match and fined 19 thousand 500 TL due to his insult towards the rival team’s fans in the MKE Ankaragücü match played in the 26th week of the Super League.
In the statement made by PFDK regarding the issue, the following statements were made:
“GALATASARAY A.Ş. athlete MAURO EMANUEL ICARDI has been subject to FDT articles 41/1-a and 35/4 due to his insult towards the opposing team’s fans in the MKE ANKARAGÜCÜ-GALATASARAY A.Ş. Trendyol Super League match played on 18.02.2024. “In accordance with the articles and by applying the 12th article of the FDT, it has been decided that he will be BANNED FROM 1 OFFICIAL COMPETITION and punished with a fine of 19,500.-TL.”
HE WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY IN THE BEŞİKTAŞ MATCH!
Mauro Icardi, who received a 1-match ban from PFDK, will serve this penalty in the Antalyaspor match to be played in the 27th week of the Super League. The Argentinian striker will be able to play on the field in the yellow-red jersey in the Beşiktaş derby match to be played next week.
