Bram Elstak has already done more than 150 Efteling tattoos, including himself

A tattoo of the Vogel Rok on your back or of the Python on your arm, it can’t be crazy enough for some Efteling fans. There is a good chance that this came from tattoo artist Bram Elstak (39). The Eindhove resident tattoos at Carbon Cloak Tattoo in Rosmalen and has already helped hundreds of fans get an Efteling tattoo. He’s already had every ride in the amusement park. “I even got a Danse Macabre tattoo, even though the attraction isn’t even open yet,” he says.

Bram’s love for Efteling started 25 years ago. “I got a subscription for my fifteenth birthday and now I still go at least once every month,” Elstak explains. “I enjoy the attractions the first time, but after that I quickly use the drawing pad to create new designs. Especially with the themed attractions, I’m not a big fan of roller coasters.”

Nine years ago, his tattooing career started with a rollercoaster. “I was already making other tattoos at the time, but when Baron 1898 opened it was big news and I made my first designs. I received positive reactions and also from the Efteling itself. I have now completed more than 150 Efteling tattoos.”

“I tattooed a raven on her and a dragon on him.”

He has seen almost every attraction. His customers often have fond memories of Efteling. “I also tattooed a couple who got married in the Efteling,” says Bram. “They especially liked the Ravelijn show. Then I tattooed a raven on her and he has a dragon on his body.”

There are also enthusiasts who sometimes can’t wait for their favorite attraction. “I have already had people who want something from the Danse Macabre, while that attraction is not even open yet,” says Bram. Still, he hasn’t had all the attractions in the park yet. “I haven’t had the opportunity to tattoo anything from George and the Dragon yet. People apparently prefer mushrooms from the Fairytale Forest or the Bird Skirt.”

“Unfortunately, I don’t have much room on my body anymore.”

Remarkably, there is nothing from Efteling on Bram’s own body. “I’m still looking. I still want something from the amusement park, but I have no idea what. And unfortunately I don’t have much room on my body anymore.”
