Exactly 1302 heroic people from Brabant will conquer the mythical mountain Alpe d’Huez in France tomorrow. More than 21 percent of all participants in Alpe d’HuZes come from Brabant, making our province the best represented. Omroep Brabant reports on the twentieth Alpe d’HuZes all day on Thursday.

You don’t have to miss anything in this anniversary edition. You can follow everything tomorrow from:

  • 10 a.m. to approximately 8:15 p.m. via the website, app and Brabant+.
  • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on television.

14 kilometers of suffering on a hellish mountain with 21 bends. On this first Thursday in June, exactly 5,352 participants will climb the Alpe d’Huez, an iconic mountain in the French Alps, cycling, running or walking. The first ones leave at half past four in the morning.

A day earlier, 685 people went up the mountain during the sister event. This makes the total number of participants 6037.

Alpe d’HuZes is an annual event that raises as much money as possible for cancer research and to improve the quality of life of people with cancer. Last year, more than 19 million euros was raised. The final results for 2026 will be announced on Thursday around 8 p.m.
