“The lights were completely shaking,” says a neighbor with fear still in her eyes. Shortly after the explosion, which was probably caused by heavy fireworks, several neighbors got out of bed to see what was going on outside. The fire brigade, ambulance and police quickly arrived on the scene.

Lambert van Dijk, who lives nearby, says visibly affected: “I am certainly shocked, I am afraid of it.” The shards were in front of his house.
“I have a camera in front of the window. Then you think: what if they think it has been filmed? That maybe something will happen to me too.” Although his camera does not store any images, he is still not completely confident about it.
“How bad. And of course young boys again,” sighs local resident Sicca Maat. “That’s rife.” Maat is referring to previous incidents in the region, which led to arrests of underage suspects. The motive for this act is not yet known.
Unrest around housing has been going on for some time
It has been rumbling in and around the house for some time, local residents say. It doesn’t come as a surprise to them that things went wrong last night. For example, two weeks ago there was a party that got out of hand and last summer there was an ambulance at the door.
Some neighbors do not want to respond on camera because they are afraid that something will happen to them too.
