Boy (16) confesses that he sent threats about Knippenberg College

A 16-year-old boy from Overijssel has confessed that he has sent threats about the Dr. Knippenberg College in Helmond. This was reported by the police on Monday evening. The past few days have been restless at the high school. Aggressive texts were distributed to the school on WhatsApp and social media.

The threats were anonymous and were about Dr. Knippenberg College. Police digital investigation led to the 16-year-old boy. He has confessed that he has sent threats and will be questioned later. He has not been arrested. Police would not comment further on the arrest.

Police are continuing to investigate and have informed the school. “It’s good that the police came to a suspect so quickly in the investigation into these anonymous threats. Hopefully peace will return to the school soon,” the Public Prosecution Service said. At the end of the police investigation, the Public Prosecution Service determines how the case against the underage suspect will be settled.

Abuse in toilet
The threats sent by the boy are said to be related to the assault of a 14-year-old girl in a toilet at school. That happened two weeks ago. The assault was filmed.

After the assault, the girl received support from a group of motorcyclists who took her to school and picked her up again. Three schoolmates were arrested a few days after the assault.

The school sent a letter to parents last week about the online threats and said the police were investigating the matter. Despite the threats, the school remained open. On Monday, employees were at the gate at the school, so that students could go there with questions. The director of the Dr. Knippenbergcollege told the ED that the threats were probably intended to stand up for the abused girl.
