Australian fencer dies at 26

The Australian fencing community mourns the loss of Boston Fawkes-Kotevski. The athlete still had a lot planned – and now suddenly died.
He had big dreams and wanted to achieve a lot in sports. But Boston Fawkes-Kotevski has now died at the age of 26. The Australian Fencing Association announced this on Instagram. A statement said that Fawkes-Kotevski was an “influential figure”. A cause of death is not given. It continues: “Off the piste, Boston was a proud father and loving husband.”
Fawkes-Kotevski’s wife Alexandra shared a story highlight on Instagram titled “RIP Boston.” The two would soon be celebrating their first wedding anniversary. They also have a son together.
The Australian association also wrote in a second post on Instagram that the memorial service will take place on December 14th at 11am at the Lotus Pavilion in Macquarie Park. The association also said: “Please continue to think of Boston’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Boston Fawkes-Kotevski has won several medals since 2009. Including ten gold medals in various competitions. Among other things, at the national junior and U15 competitions.
