Goalkeeper Sommer is also out
This article first appeared at 3:54 p.m. and has now been updated with Sommer’s diagnosis.
Slight all-clear for Jonas Hofmann: The national player suffered a shoulder joint rupture in the cup defeat by Borussia Mönchengladbach in Darmstadt (1: 2) without bony involvement. Borussia did not say exactly how long the all-rounder had to pause. In the event of a week-long absence, a nomination by national coach Hansi Flick should be questionable. The World Cup in Qatar starts on November 20th.
The 30-year-old Hofmann was injured and replaced at half-time during the Gladbach Cup defeat on Tuesday evening. “He stayed down after a foul and dragged himself through to half-time, then I had to change,” coach Daniel Farke said after the final whistle.
Jonas #Hofman suffered a shoulder joint rupture in the DFB Cup game without bony involvement and will be absent from the foals for the time being. However, his participation with the DFB selection at the World Cup is not in danger.
Get well soon and get fit again, Jonas!
