Borussia Dortmund has succumbed to the pressure of the championship. The leader of the Bundesliga came out at VfL Bochum no further than a 1-1 draw. This gives competitor Bayern Munich the chance to take over the lead tomorrow against Hertha BSC.
With the man in shape Donyell Malen in the base, Dortmund started the game poorly. Malen scored four goals and an assist in his last three matches, but saw his team fall behind within five minutes. Anthony Losilla received the ball on the edge of the box, did not hesitate for a moment and shot the ball beautifully into the top corner.
It didn’t take Dortmund very long to respond. Former Ajax player Sébastien Haller extended a cross from Malen, which ended up at the far post at Karim Adeyemi’s feet. He made it 1-1. In the last fifteen minutes, Dortmund had great opportunities through substitute Youssoufa Moukoko, Jude Bellingham and Malen with a brilliant heel, but the ball did not want to go in anymore.
Due to the draw, Borussia Dortmund is now two points ahead of Bayern Munich, which can take the lead in the Bundesliga tomorrow. Dortmund will play the last games of the season against VfL Wolfsburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Augsburg and FSV Mainz.
