US judge rages against 72-year-old cancer patient with too many weeds on the sidewalk: “You should be ashamed, this is unforgivable”
In the summer of 2021, weeds grew in front of Burhan Chowdhury’s home in the US state of Michigan. The 72-year-old cancer patient was too weak to pull the weeds himself, and his son, who was responsible for maintenance, was abroad for three months. It resulted in a $100 fine for Chowdhury, but it’s mainly the way the judge railed against him that caused a stir. “This is shameful. Your neighbors shouldn’t see this,” she shouted during the hearing.
