In the Tver region, a case was opened after the death of a child due to a dog attack – RBC

Investigators in the Tver region opened a criminal case into the death of a boy who was bitten by dogs, follows from messages on the site of the investigative department for the region.

On January 14, in the village of Arkatovo, a woman opened the enclosures where the dogs were kept in order to remove them. At least five animals ran out into the garden, closed with a net. However, her unattended son, born in 2015, passed into this zone, where the dogs attacked him. The child died from numerous injuries incompatible with life.

The child’s mother can be held liable under the article on causing death by negligence (part 1 of article 109 of the Criminal Code). She faces up to two years in prison.

Investigators and police are establishing the circumstances of the incident, examining the scene, and interrogating witnesses. The UK appointed a forensic medical examination.
