Remu Aaltonen kept in touch with Lasse Norres until the end.
Lasse Norres died on November 14 at the age of 73. Matti Matikainen
Music industry influencer Lasse Norres died of cancer in November last year. Norres recalls in the news book Remu – The Wonderful Life of Henry Aaltonen (Emilia Miettinen – Tammi, 2026)how Remu Aaltonen kept in close contact with him.
Norre was interviewed for the book in July of last year.
Norres had already told his friend Remu about his incurable illness at the beginning of 2025.
I was so taken, so ungodly taken by how Remu reacted when he heard that I was seriously ill at the beginning of the year. When almost most people say that you’re sick, well, you’ll get better, and then nothing is heard from them. No text message, no one calls; Lasse is a förbi, don’t worry about it. But Remu, even when it was over there in Tenerife spending the winter, it calls from there every week, often twice a week, to ask how I’m doing.
Remu asked in the phone calls if he could do something.
It is such a huge sign of friendship that you are able and willing to take care of another person. Although we are close, we are not brothers at all, except in appearance. It touches.

Norres says in the book that Remu has a big heart, even though his external image is cold and not terribly warm.
Sometimes when Remu calls, I’m there, don’t you have nothing else to do but take care of me. It says that now that I’ve been thinking about it, I should come up with some medicine for you. There can be no greater demonstration of friendship, of brotherly love, than what I have received from him during these weeks and months of my moderately difficult illness. My gratitude will last until the end.
Norres was Remu’s manager for years. In October, Remu told Iltalehte that Norres was “a loan shark who has been there for a hundred years”.
– He was like a brother. He took care of my affairs as long as we knew each other. I can’t find that kind of guy anywhere, they don’t exist. He was reliable, handled everything properly and everyone liked him. No one ever said shit or a bad word about that guy, Remu Aaltonen described Norre to Iltalehte.
