Bon Jovi releases Christmas song “Christmas Isn’t Christmas”

Bon Jovi hasn’t been heard from for three years – now the American rock band is releasing the song “Christmas Isn’t Christmas” and thus, in a sense, ushers in the Christmas season.

In the track, which was released on November 17th, frontman Jon Bon Jovi begins by singing about “fancy wrapping paper, pretty ribbons,” “snowfall,” and ultimately that one loved one he misses at Christmas. To round out the festive sound, the song was recorded at a church in Nashville earlier this year.

The group already showed that the Bon Jovi members are fans of the Christmas season in December 2020 when they released a cover version of the classic “Fairytale Of New York” by The Pogues.

The band’s current album was released three years ago and is titled “2020”. It remains unclear whether more music can be expected in the near future. What is certain, however, is that the musicians are celebrating their 40th band anniversary this year.

Founding member and guitarist Richie Sambora recently said that it was “time” to organize a reunion. “It’s up to the people, it has to be right. That’s all,” he told People magazine. “But it’s time to do it. We’re celebrating our 40th anniversary today, but I feel younger than ever. I’m having a blast.”
