With “Diving” Bombay Bicycle Club have released a new track. It is already the second single from the forthcoming album MY BIG DAY, which will be available in stores on October 20th. In June, the UK indie band released the album’s title track, “My Big Day”.

“Diving is a song about summer”

Vocalist Jack Steadman says of the newly released single, “’Diving’ is a song about the summer you experience when you’re 15 and it’s such a unique feeling to remember. You are discovering everything for the first time and the world seems as scary and exciting as jumping off a high cliff into a lake.”

For their new track, the four men from London brought British singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone into the recording studio. The band, named after an Indian restaurant chain, has also worked with various artists on the upcoming studio album. The LP will feature guest appearances from Blur singer Damon Albarn, Jay Som and Nilüfer Yanya, among others.

Commenting on working with Holly Humberstone, who previously came out as a fan of the band, Steadman says, “Holly is the perfect cast for this song. Her music captures those early life feelings perfectly and her voice brings so much emotion to the whole song.”

The new album was mixed by Dave Fridmann, known for his work with The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, MGMT and HAIM. Bombay Bicycle Club are currently touring the UK and Europe (all dates below).
