After a three-day drought, the Italiano team returned to winning ways with goals from Castro, Odgaard and Orsolini. The Brianza people remain last
There is too much Bologna for a Monza willing and capable of giving themselves an advantage at the start of the race. Maybe even too soon, given how it ended. Italiano’s team balances itself, takes control of the game and in the end the rossoblù win 3-1. Bocchetti and his men did their best, but Monza paid for some bad moments in the match. And obviously the plays of Odgaard (who came out to applause) and Orsolini, seventh goal in the championship (the last in November). The rossoblù know the road to Europe, but it is still long. At Monza the good will remains, but something is certainly missing, especially in attack and in ball management.

However, if Bologna really wants to return to Europe, switching on intermittently will not always be enough. In fact, the Italian team needed to end up one goal down before having more energy and play. However, faced with a willing and determined Monza, it was not a given. However, the strong start belongs entirely to Bocchetti’s team. Reversal in front after 4′: from Castro’s potential goal turn we move on to Maldini’s goal, yes. All in a matter of seconds. The rossoblù defense is not good. The Maldini-Ciurria duo however was very good, the through ball for Maldini is a gem and the striker’s shot is precise. Down one goal, Bologna doesn’t accelerate. The low pace favors Monza who seems able to control, while leaving the ball to their opponents. A calculated risk, but one that turns out to be less than favorable. In the 23rd minute Orsolini comes out of hibernation and with a cross (perhaps a half shot) lights up the rossoblù match: parable cut, Castro hits it from inside the area and it’s 1-1. Italiano runs to hug Orsolini. Samba. Dominguez and Castro think about tango, skilled in tight phrasing and poisonous plays. Monza does what it can. Resists, closes, rejects. But in front of Odgaard’s masterpiece in the 34th minute there is little to say. The action is also good. Castro opens for Dominguez, central touch for Odgaard, control with the right, the ball rises and the volley from the left is scored for the 1-2. Bocchetti loses Bondo: Vignato in.

The improvements at the end of the first half give confidence to Monza, who in the second half appear in the Ravaglia area. The lunge, the real one, is missing. After all, Bologna has greater vigor and when they turn up the heat for their opponents it’s not easy. Ball management, lunges, acceleration: that’s all the rossoblù apotheosis. The substitutes from the bench then do the rest. Castro (warned) leaves the field for Dallinga, a sort of relay ahead of the night against Borussia. But it’s not the Champions League here, we need to get to the point. In the 15th minute action to be reviewed: Miranda’s dubious shoulder on Ciurria in the area, but the referee lets it go. On the other side Dallinga has the chance to score a trio, the conclusion is out. Ndoye (Dominguez out) and Lykogiannis (Miranda out) also entered Bologna for a high-intensity finish. It doesn’t take long to see the 3-1 come from the left: in the 25th minute Ndoye triggers, Lyko crosses and Orsolini, after good control, places it behind Turati. In fact it is a race with nothing else to say. Odgaard leaves the pitch with a standing ovation, good match. While Monza tries, in the final minutes, to reopen the match file. The last thrills were created by Dallinga with a header that enhanced the reflexes of Turati and De Silvestri (post). Nothing else.
