Bodybuilder dies in competition at the age of 30

Tragic incident in a bodybuilding event: one participant collapses during the competition-and dies shortly afterwards.

The Brazilian bodybuilder Wanderson da Silva Moreira collapsed in a competition and later died. The 30-year-old took part in a regional qualification for “Mister Olympia Brazil” when he lost consciousness shortly after his stage appearance.

As Brazilian media report, the athlete suffered a cardiac arrest. Spectators reported that Wanderson fluctuated before the collapse. It was medically treated for more than an hour – without success. His death was found on site. A spokesman for the organizer expressed his condolences to the relatives, but also did not want to comment.

In an emotional contribution to social networks, his trainer also commented: Wanderson da Silva Moreira was not just an athlete, but a good friend, a family man with a big heart. “We can only mourn him and ask God to donate his family and all of us to comfort,” he wrote. The late bodybuilder leaves his wife and two children.
