A body was found this morning in the water of the IJ, near the IJplein. The police are currently still working to remove the body from the water.
The body was discovered by a GVB employee near the mooring point at IJplein. The identity is not yet known to the police. When the body is recovered, it is investigated whether the person died as a result of a crime.
Next to the mooring place there are now several police vehicles and tents. Travelers can still take the ferry to and from IJplein, but there is currently one less boat sailing.
