The two drivers, Farid El-Khassim and Jelle Gillissen, from the Adriano Huis (HAH) care institution in Bergen op Zoom do not want to leave. They have objected to the designation of the Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate (IGJ) stating that they must be gone before 17 May. The two directors ask the court to suspend the IGJ decision for Saturday, because the care institution is otherwise without a board.
The IGJ announced the far -reaching measure last week. According to the inspection, clients “have not been treated properly for a long time”. They are “put in front of the drivers, frightened and confused or embarrassed,” the IGJ listed. “Some healthcare providers participate.”
The board says it is “deeply” touched by the instruction. They call it “disproportionate and unnecessary disruptive for residents and employees”.
Clients have an intellectual disability and serious behavioral problems. “Their behavior is unpredictable, can be dangerous and requires care that goes beyond the beaten paths,” says the institution.
