Bloomberg learned about the removal of Google employees from Russia

According to the agency, the company assumes that it will soon have to stop working in Russia. These forecasts are related, among other things, to the restrictions imposed by YouTube, which belongs to it, on the publication of videos of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Google began to take employees out of the Moscow office – the only one in Russia, sources say Bloomberg.

The agency, citing an internal document, writes that YouTube, a video hosting company owned by the corporation, banned a channel owned by the Russian Ministry of Defense, and last week limited the department’s ability to publish new videos for seven days. According to the document, YouTube took these measures after the Ministry of Defense, in two of its videos, called the special operation in Ukraine liberation. These videos have been removed Bloomberg. Google suggests that all these actions may be the reason for the termination of its work in Russia.

“Our policy prohibits the denial, downplaying of documented episodes of violence, including the Russian invasion of Ukraine,” the company said in an email seen by the agency.

The last video on the channel of the Ministry of Defense was published six days ago.

RBC sent a request to Google.
