The children who went to the campsite went to the central public primary school or school with the Bible from 1 April to 1 October. They could no longer handle the number of students at some point.
That is why a school in the canteen was temporarily set up on the CSV Bakkum football site, which soon became too small. According to Gerard, a building was used at the ice rink to cope with students.

“I think it is that tent, because three classes can go in, and there were also three classes at that time. But I cannot find that and I am very curious about children who have been in those schools. Or from children of parents who have been in those schools, and in particular that school on the ice rink. And former bakers who still know about it.”
In 1966 it was decided all students from Bakkum at Duinrandschool in Bakkum. “Then that separate event was about,” said Gerard.
No swear name
Gerard is very interested in the school experiences of the Zwarte -Foetenkinderen. And he wants to emphasize: that is not a swear name. “Certainly not, that never played. You have to look out for that today, but that was logical at the time, because you didn’t get those feet clean either.”
