The woman has now been identified as “Aniyah” and has been celebrated as a hero by fans and artists alike. Eilish’s brother Finneas posted on social media: “Red bandana girl from last night’s show rules.”
Free merch and tickets
According to NME, Billie Eilish gave the young woman merch items as a thank you. Ticket seller StubHub also responded and gave her a free ticket to another Billie Eilish show in Miami.
“Our heroine has another night […] deserved, so we got her tickets and are sending her back!!,” the company posted on Instagram. “Thank you, Aniyah, for jumping in without hesitation.”
Half a million new followers
Aniyah has gained half a million new followers on TikTok since the incident. There she also thanked her for the merch that Eilish had sent her. According to video footage on social media, Aniyah was seen at another Miami show where Billie Eilish also recognized her.
In response to the many expressions of thanks and praise for her courageous efforts, Aniyah wrote on Platform X: “Thank you guys for all the love, comments and edits.”
No consequences for brutal fan
Meanwhile, the fan who treated Eilish roughly doesn’t have to fear any further consequences. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Miami police said: “The individual has been removed from the Kaseya Center. That is all.”
Artists like Billie Eilish have experienced multiple clashes with fans in recent years. Concerns are increasingly being raised about the safety of performers at concerts. In 2023, Adele criticized fans for forgetting how to behave at shows, according to the Independent.
There had previously been a number of incidents in which pop artists such as Lady Gaga, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift were hit by objects thrown at the stage by fans. These ranged from food such as cabbage to electronic devices such as cell phones to roses and jewelry. Billie Eilish was also hit in the face by an object during her “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour in 2024, forcing her to briefly stop her song.
