Bilal Wahib couldn’t stop crying last night in Humberto Tan’s talk show. At one point the actor was handed a handkerchief. “I just panicked.”
It has been two and a half years since Bilal Wahib asked a 12-year-old boy to show his genitals. A joke that got completely out of hand that cost him his career. Now he comes with a typical celebrity docusoap, in which we see how the 24-year-old actor is doing these days.
Bilal has to cry
Bilal was sitting at the table with Humberto Tan last night and he was presented with an excerpt from that documentary. A teacher at the drama school asks him to act out how he felt when he did not dare to go outside and was chased. “I don’t really want to play this one anymore, man. I feel this one, man,” he replies.
Then Bilal starts to cry. In the fragment, but also at Humberto’s table. “What is happening here? And what happens now?”, asks the host.
Bilal: “Now I look at myself and I have to cry. You shouldn’t do that to me! No, we’re not going to do that!”
‘This is essential’
Humberto takes over. “But Bilal, this is essential. Do you know why? Something horrible happened and you made a mistake and you admitted it. Career is gone, everything is gone, your mother is in pain. Then you can really get emotional.”
He continues: “I see here the real pain of Bilal who feels the consequences of his action. At least, that’s what I think I see, or is it something else?”
Panic
That is indeed the case, according to Bilal. “No, that’s him. I had a very long lesson that day and she says at one point… I was threatened quite a lot, that’s what it was really about. And then that scene suddenly came back into my head…”
It was a terribly complicated time, the actor sighs. “You were just talking about panicking a bit. I always look outside and you can also see that I am looking outside there. Then I think about every car: hey, is that coming for me? You know… The police said it was pretty intense.”
