During the performance of her hit “Bubble Pop,” the 33-year-old began to sway briefly, then simply fell over. A video shows how the musician is then carried off the stage by a security guard.
Fans are now worried about Hyuna, believing that the stage fainting could be related to the singer’s severe weight loss. As Hyuna herself revealed, she lost up to 10 kilos in a few days after rumors spread that she had gained weight or was pregnant. She based this primarily on her desire to eat healthily.
Hyuna asks forgiveness for her weakness
The K-pop star tried to calm things down with a post on social media: “I’m really sorry. It was just a short break between performances, but I wanted to show you my best. I don’t remember anything that happened and I feel like I wasn’t professional.”
She apologized to her fans and promised, “I will try to gather my strength and continue to work hard. It would be great if everything went the way I want and I will do my best. I want to thank you for loving and supporting me from when I was young until now.”
Hyuna herself had also stated that she had experienced several fainting spells in the past, which were caused by a sudden drop in heart rate or blood pressure, as well as other health problems. She also reported that her stamina decreases significantly and she collapses when her weight falls below 45 kilograms.
Hyuna not only made a career as a K-pop singer, she has also rapped in the past and is a model. She began her career in 2007 with the Wonder Girls and briefly joined 4Minute in 2009. The singer began a solo career in 2010 and has enjoyed great success with songs like “Trouble Maker,” “Red,” and “Babe.” She is considered a sex symbol, especially by young fans in her home country.
