Tens of thousands of music lovers stroll through Groningen on Friday evening. These are in addition to the standard nightlife crowd. So busy. And chock-full bicycle sheds.
In fact, there is no longer any space available in the parking facilities under the Forum and the old V&D, nor in the designated bicycle parking lanes along streets in the center. That is why visitors to the center and ESNS must park their steel horse outside the official parking spaces.
But the municipality is not happy with that. Rules are rules. Bicycles outside the sheds are towed away. Vans drive back and forth to collect bicycles from the Grote Markt, from the Oosterstraat and from the streets around the Forum.
