The best player from the North American basketball league NBA will now be awarded the Michael Jordan Trophy. It pays homage to the American basketball legend, who himself was named MVP (most valuable player) five times between 1988 and 1998 and MVP of the finals six times. Jordan led his Chicago Bulls team to six titles.
