Bernie Marsden is dead

The founding member of the band Whitesnake died at the age of 72.

Whitesnake’s original guitarist Bernie Marsden has died at the age of 72.

Marsden’s official social media channels say that the musician died peacefully on Thursday evening.

Marsden was allowed to spend the last moments of his earthly life with his wife Fran’s and his daughters Charlotte’s and Olivia’s with.

– Bernie never lost his passion for music. He composed and recorded the music until the end, in an Instagram post will be written.

Marsden has been composing Whitesnake’s songs, among others Here I go again, Fool for your loving and She’s a woman.

Born in Buckingham in 1951, Marsden started his career in the rock band UFO. He founded Whitesnake together with guitarist Micky Moody and a singer in Deep Purple David Coverdale with in London in 1978.

Marsden is also known for his extensive guitar collection. The musician owned According to the Guardian over 200 guitars.
