France hands defending champion Orange final blow in quarterfinals
ROTHERHAM – Blow after blow, the Orange Women took this European Championship, but on Saturday bending really broke and the dream of title prolongation shattered brutally. Just like in the final of the 2019 World Cup and the Olympic Games last year, a penalty kick led to the end. France won 1-0 at the New York Stadium in Rotherham after extra time. Just under five years after the Lionesses put themselves on the map with a European Championship win, the Dutch football players have lost their title.
