A 21-year-old Belgian tourist ended up in hospital in the Italian city of Florence after a robbery. The man was robbed of his phone on the street and attacked with a glass bottle.

According to Italian media, the incident happened on Wednesday evening in Via Faenza in the center of Florence. The victim was walking down the street with a friend when he was surrounded by two men. One of them grabbed his mobile phone from his hands and hit the tourist’s head with a glass. The two then fled.
The victim was injured and taken to Santa Maria Nuova Hospital, where he remains. The police are trying to find the perpetrators using video footage from surveillance cameras in the area.
