The performance curve for German speed skaters is pointing upwards. After strong results in the team sprint and the 1,500 meters, Moritz Klein also ran into the top ten in the 1,000 meters in Beijing.

The German speed skaters achieved further top ten results at the second World Cup of the season in Beijing. In the A final over 1,000 meters, Moritz Klein (Erfurt) came in ninth place, 1.48 seconds behind the victorious Dutchman Kjeld Nuis. Frankfurt’s Felix Rijhnen came tenth in the mass start. In addition, the German women took seventh place in the team sprint with Anna Ostlender, Michelle Uhrig and Lea-Sophie Scholz.

Dombek ensures top results

The day before, the German men with Klein, Hendrik Dombek and Stefan Emele had already reached sixth place. The German trio was 0.96 seconds slower than the victorious US team.
