“At the end of the day we lacked the offensive flow today. You have to play your best game against Bavaria, we didn’t do that today”the Ulmer Karim Jallow admitted to the Dyn microphone and spoke of one “deserved” Success of the Munich.

Nervous start of the game

The respect of the two teams in front of each other seemed to be enormous. Really a lot of mistakes on both sides did not allow any river in the game from the start. Munich, which last had to take defeats both in the league against Bamberg and in the Euroleague against Anadolu Efes and, above all, captivated with an outstanding litter quota from the distance, scored almost nothing in the first half. Only one of ten attempts to triple sat.

The result of both ulcers looked even miserable: only one of twelve shots had hit the basket. But that should be at the end of the second section when Nelson Weidemann tore the scepter in the Ulm game. With a series of eight points, including two successful three-point attempts, he brought the leaders to 27:28, and Justinian Jessup even in front before the break.

Ulm with lightning start in the second half

With two fast threes, the “sparrows” even pulled away to eight points, again Weidann and Jessup met. But the Bavarians reacted immediately, were wide awake and more reactions three times in a row and shortened, Ivan Kharchenkov scored five points in a row.

But Munich just didn’t find the rhythm – and Ulm didn’t. Every time a team seemed to be on a run, a Pahse MT falls in ball loss and misconceptions. The game remained balanced at a low level, at the end of the third quarter it was balanced 47:47.

Low-score game

The game remained a real snail race. In the middle of the final quarter the guest team of coach Ty Harrelson was in front with a dot in front (56:55). But thanks to a perfect free throw yield, the hosts stayed in the game and went in the front.

But Ulm had caught a raven -black day. Munich worked properly in the defense, but certainly not insurmountable. But especially the attempts from distance and the free throws ended up too rarely in the Munich basket. Ulm also affected 18 ball losses and allowed too many offensive rebounds.

And although the hosts under world champion coach Gordon Herbert really did not act outstandingly, Ulm could not take his chances. Munich no longer allowed a weak phase and in the end brought the victory home safely.
