BBL: FC Bayern wins at promoted team Vechta

Bayern Munich’s basketball players have found a strong answer to their recent weak phase with their third win in eight days. Alba Berlin, on the other hand, is sliding ever deeper into an earnings crisis. The Munich team also won the difficult Bundesliga game at Rasta Vechta on Sunday with 85:81 (40:39) and moved level with the strong newcomers in the table.

Alba also now has a record of 6:3 victories, but the trend is negative: Despite a comeback, the MHP giants Ludwigsburg lost 79:87 (34:47), across all competitions it was the fifth defeat in a row for Berlin.

The Telekom Baskets Bonn are also on a par with Bayern, Vechta and Berlin, winning against MLP Academics Heidelberg with 92:69 (52:33). The quartet forms the chasing group, with the Chemnitz 99ers and champions ratiopharm Ulm at the front (both 8:1).

Bayern dominated the third quarter in Vechta after an even first half of the game, but came under a lot of pressure again in the final period. The team ultimately successfully distributed the responsibility across several shoulders: Carsen Edwards (24), Devin Booker (17), Sylvain Francisco (13) and Elias Harris (11) all scored in double figures.

Munich had already won the BBL duel with Ludwigsburg (92:84) last Sunday and also won the EuroLeague against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne (101:100 nV) during the week. There had previously been five defeats from six games since the beginning of November.
