After moving to the Vancouver Whitecaps, Thomas Müller turned the club around and sensationally led it to the MLS final. However, the FC Bayern legend lost out in the final against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami on Saturday and the championship trophy went to Florida. Of course, there’s no reason for Müller to mope for too long – on the contrary.
While the pink party raged around him, Thomas Müller proudly tapped the Vancouver Whitecaps logo. The 2014 world champion was disappointed after the 1:3 (0:1) against Inter Miami, but quickly regained his fighting spirit.
“Yes, we could have won tonight. We gave it our all, but it wasn’t enough. Congratulations to Miami and all the players,” said Müller in an Instagram video, only to dare to move forward: “I’m really excited about what’s to come next year. I’m very happy to be part of this success – and our success isn’t over yet. Our journey isn’t over yet.”
With this, FC Bayern’s long-time difference player once again indicated that he had fallen in love with Canada, the club and the city in just four months – and that he would stick with it for another year.

“See you – after the vacation, we need it,” announced Müller. Then he wants to make a new attempt with the Whitecaps and dethrone Miami.
Miami is threatened with upheaval without Messi’s buddy
Meanwhile, the face of the newly crowned champion will inevitably change. Because even if the 38-year-old Messi will continue (contract until 2028), his long-time companions Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets ended their careers on Saturday.
“The team gave everything to win the MLS. It was a long season with a lot of games and the team accepted the challenge,” Messi was quoted as saying on “Apple TV”.
After ten Spanish championship titles with FC Barcelona and two more in France with Paris Saint-Germain, the world champion achieved his goal with the first title for Miami.
