Bayer Leverkusen will have to do without their Argentine world champion Exequiel Palacios for the time being. The midfielder suffered a muscle injury in his right thigh during the Bundesliga leaders’ 3-2 win at RB Leipzig, the Rhinelanders announced on Sunday. Exactly how long the 25-year-old will be out is still unclear.
However, the Leverkusen team gave the all-clear to Jeremie Frimpong (23). The fast winger was substituted after around half an hour after a blow to his right lower leg on Saturday in Leipzig. According to Bayer 04, the Dutchman’s injury is not a structural one. He is scheduled to train with the team again next week.
