Football runner-up Bayer Leverkusen will be the first Bundesliga club in the summer preparation for a training camp to Brazil.
The club of the new trainer Erik Ten Hag traveled to Rio de Janeiro from July 14th to 24th and will train there on the grounds of the traditional club Flameng.
“The climate at this time of year comes towards us and the training conditions in the Flamengo performance center are excellent,” said sports manager Simon Rolfes.
According to a message, Bayer in Brazil will also play a friendly against a “well -known opponent”. The club wants to communicate more information about the game at a later date.
“This preparation time in Brazil will be the preliminary highlight of our numerous activities in the Brazilian market, a project that is certainly unique in this form in the Bundesliga,” said Managing Director Fernando Carro.
Bayer has been maintaining good relationships in the South American country for years, not least because of numerous club icons such as Lúcio or Paulo Sérgio.
