Klaus Augenthaler has known the long-standing Bayern patron for decades. As the youngest banter, the ex-libero has a simple explanation: Hoeneß couldn’t help it.

Uli Hoeneß’s statements about Bavaria’s sports director Max Eberl and the Fehde with ex-Bayern captain Lothar Matthäus have determined the headlines in the past few days and weeks. Now someone who has known Hoeneß has been talking about the intentions of the Honorary President of Munich: Klaus Augenthaler believes: “Uli is over 18 and is trapped in football. He just can’t let go. But he never means bad,” said the 1990 1990 in an interview with Sport1.

Too Hoeneß ‘TV appearance, in which this sports director Eberl attested thin skin, Augenthaler says: “I did not see the performance-unfortunately or thank God. Uli cannot let go, just as I can’t let go. He is just and sometimes confrontative.”

And further: “Uli hurts what is happening at Bavaria. In the past few years you have played a lot of money because you only came to the quarter -finals of the Champions League four times.”

Augenthaler does not want to overestimate the criticism of Hoeneß’s statements: “Uli has developed so much that he himself believes that he can say everything. Uli did not mean anything bad, his heart is just red-white.”

Augenthaler, who was the co-coach of the Munich coach between 1992 and 1997, strengthens the back: “I think it’s good what Max said at the press conference between 1992 and 1997. It was important that he spoke. I didn’t doubt a second anyway.” He emphasizes: “Uli certainly didn’t want to hurt Max.”

His job is already difficult enough: “The biggest challenge is to get good players for little transfer. But Eberl has a future at FC Bayern when he can work in peace,” says Augenthaler, who is currently working in the youth field at FCB.

When asked about the rivalry between Hoeneß and Lothar Matthew, says Augenthaler, who once played together with both: “Maybe both should just talk.
