Cologne (dpa) – Head coach Steffen Baumgart has returned aggressively to the training ground of 1. FC Köln after his one-week corona quarantine.
“The goal is to win in Leipzig as well,” said Baumgart the day before the opening game of the 22nd match day of the Bundesliga with the runners-up on Friday (8:30 p.m. / DAZN).
However, the fact that Cologne, who were only saved last year in the relegation, are sixth directly in front of RB, for Baumgart is only “a snapshot. We are well above our goals, Leipzig is lagging a bit behind. But they are among the best teams in the league. Baumgart is happy that he can be back after his forced break in the 1-0 win against Freiburg because of a positive corona test. “I love being there on the edge,” he said. “But the excitement will be no different than at home.
