Swiss-based shoe retailer Bata Corporation introduced its new creative director shortly before Christmas. Miguel Esquide has been appointed Chief Design Officer – Bata.
In the future, he will be responsible for designing the Bata collections and the associated lines such as Bata RedLabel and Bata Comfit. With the appointment, the company underlines “its commitment to innovation and creativity with the constant goal of reaching modern target groups worldwide,” according to a statement.
Esquide has many years of experience in the shoe industry. According to his new employer, he is one of the founders of the 1Concept label and was responsible for the design and strategy of the footwear collections of brands such as Lefties, Zara and Pull & Bear at the Spanish clothing group Inditex.
“Miguel’s experience, which spans two decades at prominent brands, will play a central role in driving Bata’s creative direction and strengthening its brand identity,” the company said.
