Baskets Bonn celebrate their twelfth win in a row

The Telekom Baskets Bonn are still unstoppable in the basketball Bundesliga. On Saturday, the Rhinelanders defeated EWE Baskets Oldenburg away from home with 87:76 (35:39) and scored their twelfth win in a row.

The Bonners took over the lead in the table, which Alba Berlin was able to regain with a win on Sunday against BG Göttingen.

Without the injured league top scorer DeWayne Russell, Oldenburg couldn’t find their rhythm at first, in Bonn leader TJ Shorts remained without points in the first half. In an intense game, neither team was able to pull away. The guests succeeded two minutes before the end after a 15:1 run, Bonn’s Sebastian Herrera (18 points) scored the game-winning three point against his former club.

In the basement duel, the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig beat the league bottom team medi Bayreuth 101:89 (49:46) and scored an important victory in the fight to stay up in the league. With an 18:2 run, the Brauschweiger set themselves apart in the fourth quarter. Despite their eighth win of the season, the Lower Saxony remain in 16th place in the table.

With a 76:72 (44:36) away win at Syntainics MBC from Weißenfels, the Niners Chemnitz stopped their negative series of eight defeats in a row, so the Weißenfels team with six losses in a row now have to wait the longest in the BBL for the next win. After a 82:77 (41:37) home win over the Hakro Merlins Crailsheim, the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg climbed to fifth place.
