On the way to the 2027 Basketball World Cup, defending champion Germany will play a qualifying game against Croatia in Bonn.
The German Basketball Federation (DBB) announced this on Tuesday. The fourth game of the first group phase will take place on March 1st (6 p.m.) in the Telekom Dom. The meeting in Croatia is scheduled for three days earlier (February 26, 2026).
On Friday, national coach Álex Mumbrú’s team starts their qualification in Ulm against Israel (7.30 p.m.). Three days later, the world and European champion has to play in Cyprus (6 p.m./both free at MagentaSport).
The last duel with the Croatians so far took place in July 2021 at the Olympic qualifying tournament in Split. At that time there was an 86:76 win for the DBB team against the hosts.
