Barca disappointed against Gala, BVB fright marches

Co-favorite FC Barcelona clearly missed a preliminary decision in the fight for the quarter-finals of the Europa League after a disappointing performance.

In the round of 16 first leg in front of a home crowd against the Turkish top club Galatasaray Istanbul, the team around national goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen did not get more than 0-0 on Thursday evening.

In the game forward, the Champions League relegated lacked the recently shown enthusiasm for play, with a few exceptions, Galatasaray defended compactly.

BVB conquerors Glasgow Rangers, on the other hand, have one foot in the quarter-finals after beating Serbian record champions Red Star Belgrade 3-0 (2-0). The same applies to Sporting Braga, who beat Bayern loanee Alexander Nübel and AS Monaco 2-0.

Previously, record winners FC Sevilla had also worked out a good starting position for progression in the season of their home final. The Champions League relegated defeated the English representative West Ham United with a goal by Munir El Haddadi (60th) 1-0 (0-0).

The final at the home stadium of Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan will be played on May 18th.
