Bananen giant Chiquita wants to send thousands of employees the avenue in Panama after “illegal” strike

The American banana producer Chiquita has announced the resignation of thousands of employees in Panama. The company refers to the “unauthorized absence” of day laborers on the plantations and employees in operational centers since the end of April. The strike by the banana giant is part of broader social protest against a reform of social security in the Central American country.
