From beds to waffles

Sandia is an entrepreneurial woman with several things. “We have a bed shop and my hobby is cooking and baking waffles. I wanted to expand that hobby by opening a dessert restaurant. With my secret recipe I make the lightest batter for my waffles. This keeps the big waffles a light snack. ” Good to know: Sandia does not add sugar.

Sandia is a proud owner of Dolce Dulci in Zoetermeer, but her children also participate. “My bonus son leads Dolce Dulci in Rotterdam and I would like it if my own son started a business in Amsterdam. If my waffles in Zoetermeer are not appreciated, I just fill the building with beds. ”

Surinamese cuisine

A few times a week Sandia cooks fragrant Surinamese dishes in her kitchen, think of noodles, nasi and roti. She sells meals that remain for an incentive via the app Too good to go. Furthermore, you can go all day for Bakkeljauw sandwiches, chicken curry, shrimp, Surinamese burger and chicken fachong.

From bicycles to waffles

Surinamese take -away restaurant Dolce Dulci can be found in the former building of bicycle shop Stevens Tweewielers. The bicycle shop moved to the former building of flower shop De Orchidee, making the building on Karel Doormanlaan empty.

Drinking coffee with older local residents

The location is a central place in the Dorp district. “In addition to a restaurant, I also want to be a meeting place for older residents in this neighborhood,” says Sandia. “Lonely people are welcome here for a cup of coffee and something tasty. My business has no restaurant function so officially no people are allowed to eat inside. But everyone is welcome for a cup of coffee and a pleasant moment. ”

Dessert and Surinamese take-away restaurant Dolce Dulci is open every day. In the video below, watch how Sandia fresh waffles prepares in her kitchen:
