With an angry video in his Instagram story, Bad Bunny has apparently positioned herself politically. This time against the US immigration authority ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), which increasingly enforces deportations under the Trump government. Bad Bunny, with a bourgeois name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, had already openly positioned herself against Donald Trump in the US election campaign 2020 and supported Vice President Kamala Harris. His latest reaction is now involved in an increasing criticism of prominent voices of US migration policy.
Kim Kardashian and Olivia Rodrigo also recently expressed themselves outraged about the ICE raids.
Since Trump’s takeover, around 500 people have been arrested on Puerto Rico from ICE, less than 80 of them with criminal records. The majority of those affected come from the neighboring Dominican Republic. The residents: Inside Puerto Ricos do not have full US citizenship, which makes them particularly vulnerable to such measures.
