AZ player Tijjani Reijnders only debutant in pre-selection Orange

Great news for Tijjani Reijnders. The AZ midfielder has been selected for the Orange squad by national coach Ronald Koeman. It concerns a 32-man pre-selection, where the final composition participates in the Nations League Finals.

It is the first time for Tijjani Reijnders that he is in the pre-selection. And he is also the only new name in Ronald Koeman’s provisional selection. On May 29, the national coach must indicate which 23 players he will take to the ‘Final Four’.

Breakthrough

Reijnders made his breakthrough in Alkmaar this season. Where the born Zwollenaar often had to make do with raids in previous seasons. This football year, trainer Pascal Jansen put him in the starting line-up in all 32 league matches. The 24-year-old Reijnders scored four times and gave six assists. He also scored yesterday in the 5-1 win against FC Emmen.

Five Ajax players

Furthermore, Koeman did not select any players from AZ. However, Ajax players Steven Berghuis, Jurriën Timber, Davy Klaassen, Steven Bergwijn and Brian Brobbey are part of the preselection. There are also spots for former AZ player Teun Koopmeiners and Joey Veerman from Volendam.

In the Nations League Final on June 14, Croatia is the opponent in the Rotterdamse Kuip and a possible final is against Spain or Italy four days later.
