AZ extends contract head coach Pascal Jansen until 2025: ‘We were out quickly’ | Dutch football

Pascal Jansen has extended his expiring contract with AZ until 2025. The head coach’s contract expired next summer. Technical director Max Huiberts announced the news at the club’s New Year’s reception.

Jansen became head coach at the Alkmaarders in December 2020 after the sudden resignation of Arne Slot. Jansen performed well with AZ in recent seasons. Last season he achieved European football through the play-offs, currently he is fourth with AZ, four points behind leader PSV. With Jansen, AZ wins remarkably often against top clubs. Ajax and PSV have already been beaten this season.

Jansen is happy with the extension: ,,I am very happy. We were out quickly. I feel very valued here and I have a wonderful group of players here, what more could you want?”
