The definitive approval of the new tariff system is expected in the coming weeks. The president of the transport regulation authority, Nicola Zaccheo, announces that the tolls will undergo a reduction, since they will be linked to the investments actually made. Among the novelties also the possibility of asking for reimbursements in the event of construction sites
In an interview released on the sidelines of the presentation of the annual report in the Chamber, the president of the transport regulation authority Nicola Zaccheo He has announced a reduction in motorway rates: “The motorway tolls will be linked to the actual investments made. Another novelty introduced by the Transport Regulatory Authority and exposed in consultation concerns the possibility of reimbursement of tolls if on the highway there are construction sites on the affected section. This regulatory scheme has been placed in consultation and the analysis of the contributions received is still in progress. Another adjustment scheme provides for obligations on the transparency of the management and accessibility of information, including those necessary for the programming of the travel (for example on travel times, distribution of electric charging columns and type of supply services), as well as those relating to the methods of calculating and payment of the toll: “The idea is that the new tolls enter the January 1st of the next year, obviously. Old: the novelty is that the unitary calculation method will apply to new concessions, but also to the current ones “says Zaccheo, who adds:” The perspective is to have a more sustainable and therefore more calm toll, strongly linked to the investments made “.

The proposal did not leave indifferent to‘National Consumer Unionwho expressed his approval to the proposal: “Well, excellent news! We participated in the public consultation, sending our observations in recent months compared to two important innovations that the transport authority adds to introduce: the updating of the tariff system of which Dr. Zaccheo and the reimbursement of the toll that users will have in the event of construction sites speaks today. In both cases, these are two significant improvements” of the UN, which relaunches by affirming the following: “We hope that our suggestions are accepted to enhance even more these two measures. We have asked, for example, that the penalty expected if the qualitative levels are lower than those provided for by the Authority, Salga compared to the 2% foreseen in the initial draft, so that it has a cleaner effect and that the penalty is more progress, Any disservice and with more percentages of penalty, to prevent the maximum penalty of 2% from reaching there are no more incentives to improve the offer “.
