Marcos Llorente has attracted attention with his unusual views. The background: contrails in the sky.

In recent months, Marcos Llorente has repeatedly pointed out so-called “chemtrails” on social networks – a controversial theory according to which aircraft spread chemical substances into the atmosphere. The Spanish international commented on the topic in a recent conversation with the Spanish online portal “El Desmarque”.

“For me, what I see in the sky is not normal,” said Llorente in the interview. He reported several responses: “Thousands of people write to me and thank me for making it public.” At the same time, he emphasized: “The sky didn’t look like this before. I’m not the only one who says that, but I don’t know what it is.”

In addition to the positive feedback, Llorente, who has been under contract with Atlético Madrid since 2019, is also confronted with criticism. “Why do you give such people a platform? Llorente is harmful,” wrote one reader under the interview on the Spanish online portal. However, such comments leave the Atlético Madrid player cold: “The reviews haven’t bothered me for a long time.”

In the Spanish radio broadcast he made it clear again: “I’m not saying that they’re intentionally spraying any kind of crap on us.” But: “I say that I didn’t see these tracks in the sky for hours before.” It means “yes, that something is being sprayed to change the climate,” Llorente continued.

Meanwhile, the Spanish international is also concerned with artificial light. In his opinion, this is harmful to the human eye, which is why he only uses infrared light at home after dark. Llorente wears glasses with yellow lenses during the day and red ones at night to filter the light.

The 30-year-old was called back into the national squad after a long time and is currently with the Spanish selection. On Tuesday he and “La Furia Roja” will face Bulgaria in the World Cup qualifier (from 8:45 p.m. in the t-online live ticker). After three games, Spain is currently at the top of the table with nine points, ahead of Turkey (6 points), Georgia (3) and bottom-placed Bulgaria (0).
