Atlético equal despite world goal Angel Correa, Sevilla remains on track Real Madrid | Football

Atlético quickly took the lead thanks to Angel Correa in Villarreal. The Argentinian attacker intercepted a pass from Daniel Parejo and made an effective goal (0-1) from a great distance.

Atlético goalkeeper Jan Oblak then turned a penalty from Gerard Moreno after which Parejo scored from the rebound. However, he had made hands and due to the VAR the equalizing goal was canceled. Shortly afterwards, Pau Torres made it 1-1 after a mistake by Oblak.

Alberto Moreno helped Villarreal into the lead (2-1) in the 58th minute. Geoffrey Kondogbia then prevented a defeat for the Madrilenians with a shot, which goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli misjudged. Atlético are now in fourth place in La Liga.

Sevilla win again and stay on track Real Madrid

Sevilla continues to follow in the footsteps of leader Real Madrid. The team of coach Julen Lopetegui defeated Getafe 1-0 thanks to a goal from Rafa Mir, halfway through the first half.

With one game less played, Sevilla has 5 points less than the Madrilenians, who already won 4-1 against Valencia on Saturday.

Sevilla also booked a narrow victory at Cádiz (0-1) when the competition resumes after the short winter break. Lopetegui’s team has already won six times this season with 1-0. Sevilla only had to concede 13 goals this season, the fewest of all clubs in La Liga.

Real Betis, the number 3 in the ranking, lost points at Rayo Vallecano (1-1). Betis is already 15 points behind Real Madrid.
