Obstacle runner Frederik Ruppert (28) powdered his personal best time at the Diamond League meeting in Rabat/Morocco and undercut the German ancient record by almost eight seconds.
In the pull of local hero and Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali, who ran in 8: 00.09 minutes of the world year, the Tübinger achieved the goal in 8: 01.49 – his own best time was 8:1509, the German record of the then European champion Damian Kallabis (Berlin) from 1999 at 8: 09.48.
Only two Europeans were ever faster than Ruppert.
