She is one of the best track and field athletes in Germany. After the season, Christina Honsel got married and is sharing impressions with her fans.
Christina Honsel missed out on a medal at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September. The 28-year-old finished in seventh place and was therefore unable to take home the precious metal she was aiming for in the high jump. But now the German athlete can shine again and has also experienced a special event in her private life.
Honsel posted wedding pictures on Instagram. She wrote: “A magical offseason.” So in German: “A magical offseason.” The latter term is used by athletes to mean the time after the season in which they do not compete and can recover physically and mentally.
Honsel shared several photos of her special day. In a snapshot you can see the athlete walking hand in hand with her husband along an idyllic forest path in an elegant bridal outfit. The two beam at each other in love while a picturesque Alpine panorama can be seen in the background.
Honsel wore a chic two-piece suit on her wedding day. The top has long sleeves and was made of lace. It’s also a bit bare midriff. The bottom part could be either a skirt or a culottes, which is not entirely clear in the photos.
Numerous companions commented on the post. Runner Majtie Kolberg posted a heart and an touched, crying emoji. Middle-distance runner Nele Weßel wrote: “Congratulations to you both.”
