The explosion is believed to have been caused by an accident involving a truck carrying explosives. According to the initial elements of the investigation, the truck would have collided with a motorcycle and a third vehicle.
The explosion occurred in Appiatse, a mining town about 300 kilometers west of the capital Accra.
